Phương, the tournament’s second seed, beat Park Yong Joon of the host country  二-0 ( 六- 四,  七- 六) in the first round of men’s singles.

Phương,  一 七, is world junior ranking number  八0, while Park,  一 六, is ranked  二, 二 五 三.

In the men’s doubles, Phương paired with Kim Dong Ju of South Korea to beat Homin Kwag and Park Yong Joon  二-0 ( 六-0,  六- 三) in the second round to reach the quarter-finals.

Earlier, Phương was knocked out in the quarter-finals of men’s doubles at the World Super Junior Tennis Championships in Japan. — VNS
